Back From An Adventure

Steve and I spent the weekend together in Southern Utah, doing some of the stuff that he likes best.  It is easy to see the appeal, gorgeous scenery, peace and quiet, a little chance to reflect.  We had  a great time, and I really enjoyed seeing Steve in his element.  The slot canyons he has talked about for years are truly spectacular, especially if you don't sweat a little mud on your feet, a little dust, and some back jarring dirt roads.  Thanks, Steve for asking me to join you. It was a great time together.  I am sorry more of the sibs were not able to be with us. More to come in time, but here are a few pics I took of our time together.

A Day of R and R

Hello to anyone who has interest enough, or, so little to do, that they track the activities we post:

Today I had had enough of the rat race. I decided I needed a day of R and R, other than Saturday and Sunday. Those two days seem to barely be enough time to prepare for the next round of chaos.
Mary Jo and I went up to Woodland Washington and played some golf at the Lewis River Golf Course. Suffice it to say we got our money's worth if you base value on a stroke to green fee ratio. The day was helped in no small part by the fact that it was absolutely gorgeous outside and that the course was not very crowded. After we finished, and we did both hit some good shots, we sat out on the deck at the clubhouse. The view of the Lewis River is spectacular. Witness the idyllic photo above. Amazing how much you can be rejuvenated with just a bit of fun. Try it, you'll like it!
I am off to link up with Steve in Utah next weekend. I am looking forward to getting to know my daring, adventurous 50 (ouch) year old youngest brother better. This will be fun!

Step One

We are new to this whole blogging thing, so bear with us as we learn the tricks. Lots new with us as most of you have heard. New grandkids, trip to South Africa upcoming, trip to Pete and Grace's wedding, etc. Also having fun following Steve's mid life adventure.
Just re-read Trinity by Leon Uris. I remember reading it years ago, but it really sticks better as an adult. Aggh! the suffering we inflict on each other under the guise of religion is horrific.I'm including shots of us and the grandkids, Cammie is 4, Casey 1 1/2, Kirby @3 mo and Margaux @5 wks. OK thats enough lets post this thing.
